The Route Plan as it is today: (subject to change by the Admiral)

Shakedown (done)

Sail around Vancouver Island – we gave ourselves a month to do this, which should be adequate if we don’t stay too long at any one place. This is the ‘shake down’ cruise just to make sure that the boat doesn’t have any issues going off shore and the Admiral and Captain are still up to the task at hand.

Sail Down the USA West Coast (done)

We need to be sailing toward the US coast no later than the end of August. Then we plan to port hop along the coast to San Francisco where a visit is planned with sister Janis and family.

Next stop is LA with a visit to Gary Barta and family. Then to San Diego.

Do the Baja Ha Ha (done)

Alan and Karin Hanson plan to meet us and do the “Baja Ha Ha” race to Mexico.  This is a 10 day Cruisers Rally. A way to meet other cruising people.

Cruise some of the Sea of Cortez. (November 2007)

We plan to be cruising Mexico until end of April in order to miss the bad weather in the South Pacific at this time of year. Many friends and family have pledged to visit us there during the 5 to 6 month lay over.

Sail to the South Pacific Islands (April 2008)

Then comes the real test, the sail West across the Pacific Ocean to the Marques islands and beyond. This is a 20 to 30 days at sea to get to the first land.

Where we hope we can help other people and be used where we can make a difference. We will give more detail to this as the plan comes together.

Back up along the Asian coast or to Hawaii and then northwest home. (?? 2009)
